There comes a moment in a woman's life when simply getting through the days is no longer enough. She begins asking different questions: What do I really want from my life? What am I capable of becoming? Have I been using what I have — or merely surviving with it?
Maybe you have spent years taking care of responsibilities, helping other people, working, raising a family, solving problems, surviving disappointments, or simply doing what needed to be done. And somewhere along the way, your own dreams became quieter. Not necessarily gone. Just quieter.
Purpose is bigger than a job title. Your purpose can appear in the way you create, lead, teach, build, care, solve problems, raise a family, serve your community. Purpose may express itself differently throughout different seasons of your life — that means you have not necessarily missed it because your life did not follow the path you once imagined.
You are allowed to want more from your life. Wanting more does not automatically mean you are ungrateful for what you already have. Growth and gratitude can exist together.
This book will ask something of you. I do not want you to simply read these pages, nod, feel inspired for an hour, and return to exactly the same patterns. I want you to participate.
Your beginning does not disqualify you. Maybe you are starting with very little, starting late, or starting over. Good. Start from there. Every woman begins somewhere. What matters is what she decides to build from there.
This book is not about turning you into somebody else. It is about helping you become more deliberate with the woman who is already here. A woman with experience. A woman with something still to learn. A woman with something still to give. A woman whose story is not finished. A Woman With a Purpose.
